Architectural Designers in Farnham
Homes designed around the way you live, in Farnham and the villages around it: Tilford, Frensham, Elstead, Churt, Rowledge, Bentley and Crondall. Extensions, remodelling, barn conversions and new homes, taken from first survey to finished build.
Our work around Farnham includes a new farmhouse and a group of barn houses at Dockenfield, a landscape design in Elstead, an extension and new interior in Farnham itself, and a garden workshop with a green roof in Churt. We have also designed and built new houses, extensions and loft conversions all around Farnham and the surrounding villages.
Services
Designed, approved and built
In and around Farnham the first question is usually what the council will accept. We answer it early: a measured survey, a design built around how you live, and an application that has already dealt with the obvious objections, whether it goes to Waverley, East Hampshire or Hart. Then the building regulations drawings and, if you want one point of contact, the build itself. Gardens are designed alongside the house, not after it.

Looking for an Architect in Farnham?
In Farnham the Design question and the Planning question tend to be the same question.
Alchemy House of Design answers both for a living. We are architectural and landscape designers based in Haslemere, and we have been designing homes across Waverley and the Hampshire border for 20 years. Extensions, remodelling, conversions and new homes: surveyed, designed, submitted, approved and built.
Our work runs out into the villages around the town. We have designed homes in Tilford, Frensham, Elstead, Churt, Rowledge and Crondall, and at Dockenfield a new farmhouse and a group of barn houses on the same farm. We are now taking on work in Bentley and across Farnham itself.
Not every Farnham address goes to the same council. Applications in Farnham, Tilford, Frensham, Elstead and Churt are decided by Waverley Borough Council. Bentley, just over the Hampshire border, goes to East Hampshire District Council, and Crondall to Hart District Council. Rowledge straddles the county line, so the first job there is checking which side the house sits on. Farnham Town Council and the parish councils comment on applications in their area, and we design with their views in mind as well as the planning officer's.
Farnham is a harder town than most for this. The Georgian centre is one of the largest conservation areas in Surrey, the listed building stock along Castle Street and West Street is dense, and much of the countryside to the south sits in the Surrey Hills National Landscape. That is not a reason to aim lower. It is a reason to design with the constraints in front of you rather than behind you.
